africa » gambia
Thursday, April 10, 2008

The Youth Against AIDS Network, in collaboration with the regional Youth Network of Youth Against HIV and AIDS for West and Central Africa, recently held a one-day validation workshop on national policy and prevention, voluntary testing and care.

The workshop was held at the NaNa conference hall and brought together participants from all over The Gambia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Mr. Mass Axe Gai, said that he was deeply moved and touched by the young people’s hard work, which led to the establishment of this year’s secretariat.

He revealed that the work would greatly contribute to the prevention of the continued spread of the disease.

He hailed the participants for their commitment and hard work and dedication to the workshop.

He further revealed that the workshop would enable participants to acquire talents in the prevention and control of HIV and AIDS. He finally urged all the participants to disseminate the knowledge from the workshop to their friends and the wider community
